It traps unwanted and dangerous chemical molecules

The activated charcoal comes from soft white wood such as willow, lime, aspen or poplar.

The first step the wood, by heating it at temperatures ranging from 600 °C to 900 °C, in the absence of air.

The second stage, essential for its activation, is to heat it a second time, always at these same temperatures but this time, in the presence of water, air or oxidizing gas. This process makes it porous by creating tiny cavities.

During this process, develop pores varying sizes to absorb and adsorb hazardous chemical molecules. You can see coal as a magical sponge.

It is this particularity which makes the coal used for purify water, smoke, odours, gas and save lives in poison control centers.

For information, our activated charcoal, in the form of granules an incredible 1400 m2 adsorption power for 1g. 1cm3 of activated charcoal can absorb 97 times its volume (97cm3) of carbon dioxide and even 165 times its sulphur dioxide volume and finally 178 times its ammonia volume.

In our body, charcoal can trap gases (balloons), unwanted chemical molecules from air pollution, food, beverages, cosmetics, harmful bacteria (tourista) .

Since the body cannot assimilate coal, it is eliminated by the intestines with all the substances trapped.

Partial reabsorption of chemical molecules:

Our body seeks daily to eliminate toxic substances, but at the level of the intestines is what is called partial reabsorption. Thus, some of the toxic molecules are reabsorbed. It takes several days or even weeks for the body to completely eliminate a group of chemicals.
